Hubs: Tall, not dark, and handsome
I met this man at 16, started dating him at 20, married him at 22 and the rest is history. I will always say that I married too young to anyone that inquires. The chances of finding the love of your life at 20 are very rare. Choosing that guy the way I did was reckless and stupid.
I wouldn’t change it, though. I’m thankful every day that we are a team. I look back at what we have made together and anguish at the thought of not having him for a year. However, he’s not gone yet and will return soon. My brave hero dressed in camo will forever be in my heart.
The Not-So-Tiny Man: Tall (too tall for my liking), not dark, and looks just like his Dad
He’s 11 now, and all I can see is his inner-strength. He struggles and trudges through as though life were a matter of fact, which of course, it is. However, I didn’t know that when I was 11.
Although his shoulders are broader, he has the joy of a child and a heart as empathetic as my own. He feels other’s pain as well as their triumphs with ferocity.
This 5-year-old fills my morning with vivid explanations of his dreams and imaginary friend. He hasn’t taken off his bat cape for over 3 weeks. His heart feels deeply and temper rivals no other except for maybe mine at that age.
He likes to remind you that even though he is small he is just as much a person as anyone.
